Mrs. Alheri Grace Yusuf

Mrs. Alheri Grace Yusuf is a Registered Nurse /Midwife and a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives, with over 40 years’ experience in Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice, Nursing Administration, Public and Community Health.

Alheri started her nursing career as a clinical instructor and then Nurse Educator at College of Nursing Sciences Kafanchan, Kaduna State before transferring her services to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. She rose through the ranks in the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria to become the Director of Nursing and the Head of Education Department and the Acting Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria before retiring meritoriously in September 2017.

She is most proud of her work in transforming Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice in Nigeria via the development and implementation of new curricula and various training modules that meets global best practices.

Upon her retirement from active service in 2017, Alheri became a full time Consultant for several organizations including UNFPA, Women for Health, Nigerian Public Health Training Initiative (The Carter Centre/ FMOH), USAID – Funded Health Workforce Management Activity, CCCRN, Bill and Mellinda Gates Foundation, etc.

She served as a member of the Education and Examination Committees of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, and she also served as a Board Member of The Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency. 

Alheri is the Managing Partner of Kayzen: The Learning Place Ltd, an organization that specialises in organizing top-notch corporate organizational trainings and online trainings for health workers.

In addition, she currently serves as the Chairman of the Governing Board of ECWA College of Nursing Sciences, Egbe, Kogi State, Chairman of the Governing Board of Throneroom College of Nursing Sciences, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, Member, Governing Board of Unity College of Nursing Sciences, Bwari, Abuja, Member of the Board of Directors of Kids with a Vision Foundation, Jos, Plateau State, and a Board Member representing Nigeria at EQUAL Global Consortium.

Alheri is a sought-after speaker, trainer and facilitator with experience in Nigeria and beyond.

Asides a passionate disposition, she has a diversity of knowledge, skills and experiences gotten both locally and internationally working alongside government bodies and international development organizations.

Alheri is married and is blessed with children and grandchildren.

Martha Kure (Visionary Leader & Educationist)

Martha Kure serves as a distinguished member of the Governing Board of Throneroom College of Nursing and Sciences. As the wife of the Vision Pioneer of Throneroom Trust Ministry (TTM) Headquarters, Kafanchan, she brings a foundational commitment to excellence, integrity, and the spiritual atmosphere that defines the institution.

A seasoned administrator and educator, Martha is the Proprietress of Waterbrooks Pathway School, where she champions holistic development and academic rigor. Her leadership extends globally as the Visionary Lead of Women In God’s Prophetic Alliance (WIGPA), an organization dedicated to the global shift of empowering women within their prophetic mandates.

Theological Depth & Authorship

Her life and teachings are deeply rooted in the Finished Work of the Cross, a theme that permeates her literary contributions. She is the acclaimed author of several transformative works, including:

Governance Philosophy

On the Governing Board, Martha Kure emphasizes the intersection of professional competence and spiritual alignment. Her mandate is to ensure that TCNS graduates are not only skilled healthcare professionals but individuals who carry the light of the Gospel into the medical field.

Dr. Yusuf Davou Dawang

Dr. Yusuf Davou Dawang is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Nigeria. With over 10 years of post-fellowship experience, he specializes in neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, spine surgery, and functional neurosurgery.

He holds the FWACS (Neurosurgery) qualification (2015) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Surgical Sciences at the University of Abuja. He serves as a  Lecturer in both the Departments of Surgery and Anatomy at the College of Health Sciences, University of Abuja (2024–present), where he teaches medical student and also doubles as an instructor for basic surgical skills.

Dr. Dawang has received advanced international training through multiple hands-on fellowships at Klinik Hirslanden, Zurich, Switzerland (2017 & 2018), as well as training at Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, India, and neuroendoscopy in Budapest. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications in World Neurosurgery on neurosurgical capacity building, training, and international collaboration in Nigeria. He is an active member of major international neurosurgical societies including AANS, CNS, and EANS.

He plays key leadership roles in postgraduate training and examinations for the West African College of Surgeons and is deeply and actively involved in community surgical outreaches across Nigeria.

He now serves as a member of the Governing Council of Throneroom College of Nursing Kafanchan.

Dr. Paul Manya Dogo, MBBS, FWACS

Dr. Dogo, graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with MBBS degree in 1983. After completing the mandatory national youth service, he joined the Kaduna State Civil Service, where he worked until his voluntary retirement. He underwent residency training in Surgery at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria as supernumerary resident, which he completed in 1985 as a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, FWACS. He pursued specialized training in Pediatric Surgery as a Clinical Fellow at the Wessex Regional Centre for Paediatric Surgery, Southampton General, United Kingdom (1997-1998). Additionally, he received training in Health System Management at the Galilee International Management Institute, Israel, and attended courses in his medical specialty and healthcare administration. As a surgeon, his primary focus was treating children with various forms of anorectal malformations. 

During his career in public service, Dr. Dogo held several key positions, including: 

– Medical Officer in Charge, General Hospital Birnin Gwari 1985 -1988

– Medical Director, Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, Kaduna 1999 – 2010

– Director of Hospital Services, Kaduna State Ministry of Health 2010 – 2012

– Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Government 2012 – 2016

– Commissioner of Health, Kaduna State 2016 – 2019

His appointment as Commissioner of Health necessitated his voluntary retirement from the civil service. In this role, he prioritized the revitalization of primary healthcare as a foundation for achieving universal health coverage. He spearheaded major policy initiatives, including the State Contributory Health Insurance Management Scheme and Supply Chain Management System reforms. Under his leadership, Kaduna State established transparent global partnerships to strengthen healthcare systems, revitalize primary healthcare, and improve service delivery. This resulted in the construction of a fully equipped primary health centre in each of the state’s 255 political wards, supported by a minimum service package and a comprehensive service delivery plan. 

With the support of Community Health Research (CHR) Initiative, Dr. Dogo introduced the Open Kaduna Ministry of Health (OpenKDMoH) program—a quarterly interactive forum with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and journalists—where he provided transparent accountability reports on his stewardship, verified by independent CSOs. This initiative was widely commended and replicated by other states in northern Nigeria. 

Beyond his administrative roles, Dr. Dogo served on numerous state and national committees, including:

  2. Member, Investigative Panel, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) 2010-2012

In recognition of his contributions to healthcare and public service, Dr. Dogo received several awards, among which are:

  2. Ambassador of Integrity Award by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Goodnews U/Rimi, Kaduna
  • Urban Reproductive Health Champion Award, in Kigali, Rwanda
  1. Recognition by development partners (PATHS2, NURHI, HSCL, etc.) for his professional dedication to the development of healthcare in Kaduna State

Currently, Dr. Dogo is focused on improving healthcare quality and patient safety, holding certifications in both fields. He serves as the Managing Director of Medevolt Healthcare Ltd, a company dedicated to advancing healthcare through: 

  1. Strategic Operational Excellence – Enhancing efficiency and resource utilization through training, mentorship, and supportive supervision for healthcare providers.
  2. Human Resource & Talent Management – recruitment and training of skilled professionals to meet healthcare demands.
  3. Strategic Planning – Aligning organizational goals with sustainable growth and impact.

He has attended conferences and undertaken assignments in multiple countries, including the USA, UK, Rwanda, Israel, Senegal, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya, Benin Republic, Egypt and Sudan. 

Dr. Dogo believes in honest, and transparent leadership by example; using his influence to positively impact others. He mentors younger professionals through one-on-one interactions. He is driven by his conviction that his work is a divine calling. For him, spirituality is expressed through compassion and selfless service to humanity- often prioritizing others above himself.    

MR. ELISHA ZOKALE JARMAI (RN, RNE, Bsc Hon. Nursing)

Mr. Elisha Zokale Jarmai is an accomplished Nursing Professional, educator, and administrator with extensive experience in clinical practice, Nursing education, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as the Acting Provost of Throneroom College of Nursing Sciences, where he provides strategic direction and oversight for academic and administrative operations.

A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Mr. Jarmai holds professional qualifications as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Nurse Educator (RNE), with professional exposure spanning both Nigeria and The Gambia. His career began with five years of hands-on bedside nursing, where he developed a strong clinical foundation and patient-centered approach to care.

Transitioning into academia, Mr. Jarmai built a distinguished teaching career across several reputable institutions. He has served as a Nursing educator at Katsina College of Nursing Sciences, School of Health Technology, Tudun Wada (Kaduna), and in Bansang, The Gambia, where he contributed significantly to nursing training for two years. He further served as a Nurse Tutor at the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan and later as a Lecturer at the College of Nursing Sciences, St. Gerard’s Catholic Hospital, Kaduna State, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at Baptist School of Health Technology, Kafanchan.

Mr. Jarmai’s leadership trajectory reflects a steady rise through key academic and administrative positions. He has held roles such as Examination Officer at the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan; Head of Department (Nursing) at Unity College of Nursing Sciences, Bwari, Abuja; and Examiner for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Internationally, he served as Acting Principal SEN in Bansang, The Gambia, demonstrating his cross-border leadership capacity.

His administrative experience also includes service as Vice Principal, Deputy Provost, and subsequently Provost at the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan, Kaduna State. Through these roles, he has contributed to curriculum development, academic standardization, and institutional growth.

Professionally, Mr. Jarmai has been affiliated with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) and remains an active member of the Bayan Loco Development Association, reflecting both his professional engagement and community commitment.

With a career defined by dedication, academic excellence, and impactful leadership, Mr. Elisha Zokale Jarmai continues to play a vital role in advancing nursing education and strengthening healthcare capacity within Nigeria and beyond.

Dr JOEL ADZE AMWE

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Joel Adze, the pioneer Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Kaduna State University has a career spanning decades as a clinician and a lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has brought his extensive experience to bear in teaching, community service including research, and administration of the department, Faculty and the College of Medicine.

He was born in Maitozo, Sanga Local Government of Kaduna State where he did his primary school. He proceeded to Federal Government College Enugu for his secondary school education and then to the University of Jos where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. His interest in the health of women and in teaching led him to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the West African Postgraduate medical College/ Ahmadu Bello University. He further had an opportunity to study in the UK and USA and thus broadened his scope in the provision of health care to women. He practiced under the employment of the Kaduna State Government until the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Kaduna State was opened and he joined the services of the university as the pioneer Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has since then participated in the administration of the training of medical students for the College and contributing to the graduation of world classs doctors.  He won a Rotary International Ambassadorial scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill USA for a Masters in Public Health specializing in Maternal and Child Heath.   He has also had training in Advanced Endoscopic and Minimal access surgery, repair of obstetric fistula. He has a diploma in Public Administration from the Kaduna Polytechnic. Over the years, he has been able to mentor a large number of doctors including other health workers.

He is has been involved in various trainings for the Federal Ministry of Health, Kaduna State Ministry of Health, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board and multiple development partners in maternal and new-born health.

He was involved in the development of the curriculum for Community Health Workers

He chairs the Maternal and New-born Health Technical Working Group and Vice Chairman of the Maternal, Perinatal and Child Death Surveillance and Response (MPCDSR) Committee for Kaduna State

He is presently the Chairman of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Nigeria (SOGON), Kaduna State chapter.

MR MAIDAWA DANLAMI KURE’S

Mr. Maidawa Danlami Kure is the Registrar of Throneroom College of Nursing Sciences, Kafanchan, and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the College.

A seasoned and result-driven administrator, he is highly committed to institutional excellence, regulatory compliance, and efficient service delivery. He is known for his integrity, diligence, and ability to implement systems that enhance productivity and accountability.

He is a Nurse professionally and holds a Bachelor of science (Hons) degree in Psychology, a PGD (Admin. Dev.) and have successfully completed all course work requirements for a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology from Nasarawa State University keffi.  He is currently at the thesis stage of the programme.

His academic training has provided him with a strong foundation in psychological principles, research methodology and the application of forensic psychology in understanding human behaviour within institutional and legal context

With vast experience in academic administration, sometime the student Affairs officer, Vice Principal Academic, Vice Principal Administration and Principal, School of nursing Gwagwalada-Abuja. He was also  Head of Nursing, St. Gerard’s college of nursing sciences Kaduna; he has developed a strong capacity in records management, staff coordination, and policy implementation. Mr. Maidawa has played a key role in coordinating accreditation processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

As Registrar, he oversees admissions, student records, staff documentation, and the general administration of the College. He has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at strengthening administrative structures and improving operational efficiency.

He believes in transparency, teamwork, and discipline as the foundation for effective leadership and remains committed to advancing the vision of the College as a center of excellence in nursing education.
